Originally photographed in London in 2004 and published in the UK magazine ReFresh, Superman Auditions captures a staged moment of waiting, performance and anticipation.
The image presents a group of young men gathered outside an audition room, each inhabiting a different attitude, gesture and persona. Combining humour with subtle observation, the photograph reflects on aspiration, self-presentation and the roles people perform in front of the camera.
