Innocence ’93 presents a series of drawings made in the summer of 1993.
Created as stream-of-thought pencil drawings, the images reflect encounters, expectations, and the search for intimacy at the time. The drawings move between closeness and distance, recognition and transformation.
Preserved in the artist’s archive for over three decades, the drawings are now published together for the first time.
The original pencil drawings have been digitally transformed into black line while preserving their rhythm and structure. Rather than refining the images, the process aimed to retain the immediacy and vulnerability of the original drawings.
The publication forms a quiet continuation to Tero Puha’s long artistic investigation into the body, identity, desire, and the gaze between people.
